[iPad] My iPad 3 suddenly becomes very hot (overheating)

I bought my iPad 3 at the launch in Spring 2012. I am a very careful user and took a very good care of the device - used only at home and never used in direct sunlight and never dropped it either.

About 5 days ago, I noticed my iPad 3 getting really warm all of a sudden. And, it's been getting really hot everytime I use it ever since. The overheating never occured until this week.

The entire back gets really really hot and the all 4 sides of the front bezel get really hot as well. It overheats either when it's plugged or unplugged.

Should I take it to the Apple store and get it checked? I am now afraid this extreme overheating might ruin the inside of my iPad.

Any advices?
