The spitfire wife of former Mets hurler Kris Benson was busted Monday after she allegedly burst into his Atlanta apartment wearing a bulletproof vest and tried to rob him at gunpoint.
Anna Benson also reportedly whipped out an ?expandable metal baton? and threatened to beat her estranged husband with it Sunday, TMZ.com reported.
Benson told cops he got her to leave by promising to bring her some money, TMZ.com reported.
The minutes Anna Benson was gone, though, the big righty called the cops.
The 37-year-old former ?Baseball Wives? star was arrested and charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault with a weapon, one count of criminal trespass, and one count of possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.
Benson, who filed for divorce last year, told investigators he believed his soon-to-be ex was wearing the vest because she figured he was armed.
A former FHM model who met the ex-Met while she was working as a dancer at an Atlanta strip joint, Anna Benson was a polarizing ? if shapely ? presence in Major League Baseball even before her hubby pitched for the Mets for two season in 2004 to 2005.

Anna Benson went on to star in the short-lived ?Baseball Wives? series, which aired on VH1 from Nov. 2011 to Jan. 2012 before it was cancelled.
Last July, she announced that she and her husband were splitsville.
