With the recent announcement that tuition fees are set to rocket to around ?9,000 per year of study it would be wise for prospective A-level students to explore all options to obtain their chosen career.

An increasing number of firms are offering apprenticeships for people to train as they work. Traditionally, these schemes were offered in manual careers such as plumbing and electrics. However, there has been a steady rise in companies such as law firms and large businesses offering candidates the opportunity to study whilst they work for the company.

Often, students will not live near to universities or the courses offered in nearby universities will not be for them; which means they may have to move away from home, causing more expense. However, with home learning this will not be necessary as all studying is done from home using the internet.

There are a number of options available for further education and it is important to not rush into a decision as university may not be the only way into your chosen profession. Seek advice from as many people as possible and research all the possible ways you can carry out your study or training.
