Every being in this planet yearns for freedom. We all want freedom figuratively and literally. We are not complete beings without freedom. Sailing is fun, exciting, adrenaline pumping and exhilarating. Sailing the seas is an adventure, and it makes us feel we can go places without any boundaries. We feel this way at sea because in the city, we are limited to the confines of the environment. Day to day tedium and monotony makes us feel like prisoners of our own society.
If you want to try out sailing, you need to learn the basics first. You need to learn what a boat is and the technicalities of sailing it. Reading the wind and knowing its behavior is a necessary sailor?s skill. Distances in the sea and identifying the direction of travel are also important.
Aside from steering the boat, another important thing about sailing is knowing how to read the weather and how to stay safe at sea. Miscellaneous items such as floating devices, flares, flashlights, and first aid kits are basic. Part of safety is knowing how to anticipate the waves and steer amongst facing huge waves. You have to understand the mechanics of the boat and how to steer it to safety.
You need to dress up as well in order to be a complete sailor. Sailing clothing and sailing gear are parts of being a hobby sailor. The weather could be at extremes when at sea and proper clothes will give you protection from it.
To gain protection from the harsh weather, you need to wear waterproof jackets and inshore warm jackets. For footwear, top siders and single mold moods will give you traction from the slippery deck. For light weather, a light colored polo shirt is enough. Women can wear leggings and men can wear trousers. For bad weather, just put any of those waterproof jackets.
